Jamestown, N.Y. – “As far as we know, this is a first,” announced Audubon Community Nature Center Executive Director Leigh Rovegno.
To make room for new merchandise that will be arriving soon, Audubon is having a first-ever clearance sale in the Blue Heron Gift Shop.
“We’re really excited!” said Rovegno. “Everything will be at least 20% off, with some items up to 40% off. As an extra ‘thank you,’ shoppers who make purchases during our clearance event will be entered into a drawing to win a one-year family membership to the Nature Center.”
Rovegno explained that income from the gift shop supports the overall operation of the Nature Center building and grounds. “100% of net proceeds from the store goes back into funding our exhibits, animals, staff, and trails.”
This opportunity to support Audubon begins on Friday, August 30. You are invited to come early to the 5-7 p.m. Monarchs and Margaritas, enjoy some shopping, then stay for drinks, food, dancing, and butterflies. Reservations for Monarchs and Margaritas can be made at online by clicking here.

Nature Center and Blue Heron hours are 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 1 to 4:30 p.m. Sundays. There is never an admission fee to visit the gift shop, and Sundays are free admission days for the Nature Center.
The end-of-the-fiscal-year pre-inventory clearance sale continues through Tuesday, September 24. The Nature Center will remain open to store customers until 7 p.m. that evening.
Audubon Community Nature Center is located at 1600 Riverside Road, one-quarter mile east of Route 62 between Jamestown, N.Y., and Warren, Pa. The 600-acre wetland preserve with its native tree arboretum, gardens, picnic area, natural play space, six miles of hiking trails, and exhibit of Liberty, the non-releasable Bald Eagle, can be visited from dawn until dusk daily.
