Jamestown, N.Y. – The staff and volunteers at Audubon Community Nature Center who make the Wild 5K Run/Walk happen every year did not want July, 2020, to go by without their favorite annual event.
The race course will again be set up on Audubon’s trails through fields, forests, and across boardwalks. This year, instead of being a single morning event, the route will be open for a week, between Saturday, July 18, and Sunday, July 26.
Runners and walkers can complete the course anytime in daylight hours during race week and report their times if they choose. (Posting times is optional.) Winning times will be announced on Monday, July 27, with fun virtual prizes.
Come alone or in your running group, taking the appropriate precautions as advised by New York State and the CDC. You can run the course as many times as you want, but may only submit one time. Be aware that there may be Day Camp groups on the trails from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.
Entry fee is $15. Registrations are accepted at AudubonCNC.org/Wild5K through July 26.
Early Bird registration is due by Sunday, July 12, to get a Wild 5K t-shirt before the race for $10 (+$8 optional shipping fee).
Money raised benefits the habitats, trails, and bridges on Audubon’s property.

Audubon Community Nature Center is located at 1600 Riverside Road, just east of Route 62 between Warren, Pa., and Jamestown, N.Y. While the Nature Center building remains closed to walk-in visitation, visitors are welcome to enjoy the native tree arboretum, gardens, and picnic area, walk the six miles of trails, and view Liberty, Audubon’s non-releasable Bald Eagle, from dawn to dusk daily while practicing safe social distancing measures.
