Audubon Lights
Welcome spring with a walk through a wonder-filled trail of lights at Audubon. Trailside forests and ponds will glow with lasers, spotlights, rain lights and more to create a delightful trail of lights around the Nature Center. A warm fire will greet visitors in the backyard and the Nature Center will be partially open for visitors to explore.
Dragons and Fairies Festival
The Dragons and Fairies Festival transforms the grounds of Audubon into a delightful mix of all things magical. Children can try their hand at archery, make a wizard staff, go on a dragon egg hunt, and so much more. Audubon’s trails are full of surprises at the annual Dragons and Fairies Festival! You may find trolls hiding under the bridges, elves wandering the trails, and dragons that lay eggs in unexpected places.
Wild 5K/Run For Liberty
Wild 5K is an annual trail race through Audubon Community Nature Center’s grounds. Throughout the years, ACNC has carefully protected the unique property it calls home, opening an educational window into the importance of maintaining habitat for all. Runners and walkers alike are invited to explore the twists and turns of the trails from a new perspective during this scenic 5K.
Monarch Festival
Monarch Butterfly Festival gives visitors a hands-on experience with live Monarch Butterflies at all stages of their life cycle. The festival is full of activities, from holding a caterpillar to catching a butterfly. Mexican food is available in honor of the Monarch Butterflies’ migration to Mexico each winter. The evening prior to the festival is Monarchs & Margaritas, an adult version of the festival. Visitors also learn how they can help the butterfly population.
Enchanted Forest
Enchanted Forest is a non-scary Halloween event for children and their adults. Walk luminary-lit trails through Audubon Nature Community Center and meet actors dressed as animals. They will engage your imagination, make you laugh, and teach you something about wildlife in the region. After your walk you are welcome to gather around the fire or explore the Nature Center, make crafts and enjoy snacks.
