Day Camp Scholarships

Gerald Augusto Camperships

This fund was set up at the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation (CRCF) in memory of Gerald Augusto. It is designated to grant one or more camperships to elementary or middle school aged children who are interested in attending single day or week-long Audubon Day Camps. Donations made to camperships throughout the year are awarded to campers to reduce or eliminate camp registration fees. At the end of the year, any remaining funds are reinvested to support even more campers the next year.

Who is eligible?
This campership is available to children aged 5 – 14 years, who experience barriers preventing them access to a quality, nature-based camp experience. Barriers may include, but are not limited to, financial resources, a lack of transportation, work/childcare conflicts, language, or a combination.

Decision /Notification Date: April 15, 2026; ongoing after May 1, 2026 as funds last.

This is a merit-based scholarship for students going into grade five and older. Preference is given to campers who have demonstrated interest in volunteering, giving back to their communities, and mentoring others, or who are volunteering as a Counselor in Training (CIT) or Junior Counselor (JC) for Audubon Day Camps.

This camp scholarship is in memory of Stephanie Frucella, a fourth-grade teacher. As a child, she loved to come to Audubon Community Nature Center with her family to walk the trails and discover wildlife, flowers, and the beauty of nature. In her life, Stephanie strived daily to make a difference in the lives of her students and community. Through this scholarship and others, her legacy will continue.

Application deadline: First round applications are due April 1, 2026. If there is sufficient funding, more applications will be accepted, first come, first served.
