Support the Animal Ambassadors

The Animal Ambassadors are a unique part of the education staff that represent ACNC. Live animals in educational programs make the experience more impactful, leading to positive relationships with nature.

Meet the Animals
Animal Advocates

Click Here to become an Animal Advocate to ensure that ACNC’s Animal Ambassadors have access to the care they need throughout the year to ensure a high quality of life.

ACNC Animal Advocates provide financial support which goes directly towards staff time and the purchase of materials, food, and medical care needed to ensure the well-being of the animals each year. Care items include: Light and heat bulbs, filter cartridges, habitat décor, bedding, vaccinations, vet visits, enrichment items, and food.

Each year, ACNC spends $2,500 to provide basic care to its animals. Another $10,000 or more is dedicated to ACNC’s Animal Care Specialist’s staff time to ensure the proper planning, training, and supervision of Animal Care Volunteers.

Habitat Heroes
Click here to become a Habitat Hero and ensure that ACNC can continue to provide necessary habitat improvements to keep the animals happy and healthy.

ACNC Habitat Heroes provide financial support for major habitat improvements.

ACNC has made major habitat improvements in order to ensure a high quality of life for ACNC’s animals every year since 2020. Annual habitat improvement projects range from $500 to $5,000 for material expenses. Another $10,000 or more is dedicated to ACNC’s Animal Care Specialist’s staff time to design, plan, help with, and oversee the construction of each habitat.

Custom Donation Amount

This is the most flexible option when it comes to donating to the animals. You can choose the amount to give. Any bit helps to ensure that ACNC can continue to provide necessary care to keep the animal ambassadors happy and healthy.

Thank you for Supporting Snapper’s New Habitat

Audubon’s Snapping Turtle was acquired as a hatchling and has grown each year.

Snapper is getting larger and needs an improved habitat that includes a basking place out of the water to live comfortably inside.

Look for signs of construction through the spring and a completed habitat for Snapper to move in to by the end of summer.

Learn more about how to support Snapper and Audubon’s other Animal Ambassadors in the drop down boxed above.
